The GamesNow Project - or just GNow - is a group of games programmers that started in 1998, when a group of brazilian students of University of São Paulo decided to start in games programming. The project target is to contribute with linux comunity with building GPL games, at the same time the members learn advanced programming or increase your skill.
Thought the project have been created in Brazil, there are no restrictions to join to the project. Anyone can join, being programming, designing, or just learning. The intention is connect people really interested in games programming.
The project isn't limited in only one game. It is composed by many games, some with learning purpose, others are parts of a bigger game that we call Webness, that will be developed as soon the members learn the needed skill to begin to play with it. All games are made with a game programing sdk ( System Development Kit ) called ClanLib.
With the creation of the group, we expect to be more easier integrate (future?) professionals on games programming, and the creation of good games.
